£100,000 Raised!
Susanna sends her heartfelt thanks to Frankie & Benny’s and our guests!
Thank you to everyone who helped us to raise money for Susanna on 30th June and 1st July.
Following a weekend of nationwide fundraising activities to raise £60,000 for the Help Susanna Walk Appeal on 30th June/1st July, we are delighted to announce we managed to raise in excess of £100,000.
Five-year-old Susanna Petersburska from Merseyside was born with Cerebral Palsy meaning she has never taken a step unaided. Here at F&B HQ, we vowed to raise the £60,000 for the Help Susanna Walk Appeal to send Susanna and her family to the US for a life-changing operation which will enable her to walk without the support of a walking frame and transform her life.
During the weekend of 30th June and 1st July, we donated sales from every kid’s meal purchased across the country to the Help Susanna Walk Appeal. Many other fundraising activities also took place, such as raffles, lucky dips, colouring competitions for kids and much more.
Susanna flies to the US for her life changing operation...
Susanna Petersburska and her family flew out to the US for her life changing operation that you helped us to raise funds for earlier this year. Brave Susanna has written a heartfelt letter of thanks to the Frankie & Benny’s team and all our guests who helped us to raise those vital funds and make her dream a reality. Susanna who suffers from cerebral palsy, travelled to St Louis, Missouri with her mum, dad and older sister last week and is scheduled to undergo the operation on Thursday 25th October. The operation will help Susanna to walk unaided for the first time. The family expect to be in America for 5 weeks before heading back to the UK to undergo intensive physio therapy. Susanna’s letter stated “I would like to thank all the people who helped raise money for me and for your support, you are great. I love you from Susanna.” I’m sure you’ll agree that words from such a brave and inspiring little girl make us feel very proud. We would also like to thank you, our guests, we couldn’t have done it without you! We will keep you posted on Susanna’s progress over the coming weeks and months.
Following the success of the campaign Monika, Susanna’s mother, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled and overcome that we have surpassed our target and are so grateful to everyone who donated and for the help and support we have received from Frankie & Benny’s who have made Susanna’s dreams come true. Without this operation Susanna would be a full-time wheel chair user so a huge thank you goes out to everyone who donated, you really will help Susanna walk and we are over the moon.”
